  1. I give this episode 4 Starfleet technical manuals that prove Vance right about replicators (holy hell what a deep dive)

  2. I'm sorry I'm late watching and couldn't join live, but I just want to say – the only thing missing from this episode was a sign taped to that spaced regulator that said "I have a type 3 phaser now. Ho ho ho!" 😂 I'm with Brandi – #DiscoDoesDieHard

  3. No, the hologram wasn't monitoring Vance, only Osyraa.
    Vance said that they use it also in their own people, not that it was monitoring him too in that instance.

  4. Damn, I must be one of the few people who likes Osyraa.
    The accent is awesome for me and she's scary and manipulative. I don't understand why people are not convinced by her. Maybe they don't get that's she's also part of a syndicate? She's not a lone bad guy, she's also a politician and an entrepreneur.

  5. No one going to say anything about the APPLE? it was very funny AND HOW MANY takes. A few people have said that the sphere data could not fit into three bots BUT I BELIEVE that the sphere knowledge is spread out through all the bots which would be about 100 of them.

  6. Good morning Dan & Brandi, I like this episode more then any other this year, I have great hope in the final to be the best, PLEASE tell me how they took the Nerada ship through the portal TRANS WARP GATE with all the ships destroyed flouting in space without being destroyed?

  7. Another great episode and a surprise Bruce appearance, I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way but Bruce needs to be on every episode or at least as many as he can. Oh and that was a cold blooded disconnect Dan, I loved it!

  8. There are several counting options that each have rational support, in my view. Here are the series (other than Discovery) where there doesn't seem to be any question to the number:

    22 TAS, with no options
    10 ST, with no options

    10 PIC, with no options

    10 LD, with no options

    13 movies, with no options

    And here are the series where there are different ways to count:

    79-80 TOS, depending on whether or not you count The Cage

    176-178 TNG, depending on whether Encounter at Farpoint and All Good Things… are counted as one episode each or two
    173-176 DS9, depending on whether Emissary, The Way of the Warrior, and What You Leave Behind are counted as one episode each or two
    167-172 VOY, depending on whether Caretaker, The Killing Game, Dark Frontier, Flesh and Blood, and Endgame are counted as one episode each or two
    97-98 ENT, depending on whether Broken Bow is counted as one episode or two

    That means that, aside from Discovery, there are a minimum of 757 "installments", or a maximum of 769 "installments", depending on your view of these questions.

    Option A: Exclude The Cage, count all two-hour TV movies as one episode: 757
    Option B: Include The Cage, count all two-hour TV movies as one episode: 758
    Option C: Exclude The Cage, count all two-hour TV movies that were produced as such as one episode: 760
    Option D: Include The Cage, count all two-hour TV movies that were produced as such as one episode: 761
    Option E: Exclude The Cage, count all two-hour TV movies as two episodes: 768

    Option F: Include The Cage, count all two-hour TV movies as two episodes: 769

    I'm making a distinction of "produced as such" for options C and D to differentiate these stories, which were written and produced as two-hour TV movies:
    * Encounter at Farpoint
    * All Good Things…
    * Emissary
    * The Way of the Warrior
    * What You Leave Behind
    * Caretaker
    * Endgame
    * Broken Bow

    …from these Voyager stories, which were written and produced as two separate one-hour episodes, then aired by UPN as a two-hour event:
    * Dark Frontier
    * The Killing Game
    * Flesh and Blood

    As far as I've seen, most episode lists have counted every two-hour TV production as two episodes, regardless of whether it was produced as two episodes or just one.

    Based on all of these options, here's episode 800:
    A: +43, The next episode after "That Hope is You, Part II"
    B: +42, "That Hope is You, Part II"
    C: +40, "Su'Kal"
    D: +39: "Terra Firma, Part II"
    E: +32: "People of Earth"
    F: +31: "Far from Home"

    I don't understand how the counting goes that makes "There is a Tide…" the 800th episode, though.

  9. Great episode Dan, Bruce, and Brandi. It went by so fast I was shocked! There was so much that went on in this episode that I am still processing it. I may have to rewatch it again. I plan on treating this one like with Su’Kal as a multi part episode. I so look forward to the season finale, yet I would be sad because it will be the last episode of New Star Trek till short treks or lower decks come out. Have you heard anything about the Short Treks?

    Thank you guys for a wonderful start of 2021. Oh Dan I finally figure out what the Gormagander are and where I saw it in season 1 of Discovery😀. That threw me into a loop last episode. 🖖🏼
