You can many of the shows, such as magnolia table on YouTube tv streaming service a day later. On some of the other shows they are 5 days later
Can you sign in with your cable account so that you can get rid of the individual channels for example on roku the discovery app and tlc instead of having 10 apps can you use your cable account to login and just have one app

This has all been a bit confusing. When it was first announced, I signed up for emails to stay informed, but have only gotten the initial confirmation email. I'm able to install the app on my Roku TV, but it's not available on my iPhone (tried "plus" and "+") I'm unable to figure out how to watch it on my laptop and am running in circles trying to get the free deal through Verizon.
Why on earth does this exist? What was wrong with Discovery putting its shows on Hulu?
Update: If you’re on fire stick go to Amazon.com on a computer and purchase the app (free) through the site. It will give you the option to deliver it to your fire stick. I did that and now it is on my fire stick.

So no live TV until the end of the January? And the big question, how's the on-demand for HGTV shows? I really need to get my mom switched to this for her HGTV and DIY channels so she stops paying $30 sling tv just for HGTV. She needs on-demand though, always going back and watching those shows, rarely watches live HGTV.
Checked my Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TV and XBOX and no options to download and install the app yet at 10:30am CST.

I don't think parental control is really needed on a service like this. There isn't any non-family friendly content on there, as far as I know.

Discovery Plus is launching tomorrow and includes its original shows as well as shows from Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Science, ID, Discovery Family, OWN, Science Channel, Motor Trend, Travel Channel, Food Network, HGTV, Cooking Channel, DIY Network, Great American Country, American Heroes, Destination America and Discovery Life.

That helped a lot, but I still have a lot of questions that I will need to get answered, and you can only do a certain amount in 7 minutes.
I will probably get it for a month and see what shows of mine it carries.
Personally, I still want the live feeds of AHC, DESTINATION AMERICA, GREAT AMERICAN COUNTRY, HISTORY and SCIENCE channels, so I don't think this will be a good fit for me, but it does look like a very good VOD service.
